In the tranquil South Tyrolean village of Oberwielenbach time seems to slow down. And we can say that this is especially true at our 3-Star Superior hotel. With its congenial, welcoming atmosphere, our Hotel Rommisa is both spacious and comfortable. Surrounded by the forests and mountains, Hotel Rommisa is an integral part of this magnificent setting.

Taking its name from the towering Rammelstein (“Rommisa” in the local dialect), our hotel is just a short hike away from the mountain. Philipp, owner and restaurant chef, conjures up innovative dinners while his wife and sommelier Katharina, takes care of the perfect wine accompaniment for our guests.

The Niederwolfsgruber-Carli Family - friendly hosts and bon vivants!

The Niederwolfsgruber-Carli family is known as one of the friendliest family businesses in the Pustertal Valley. Under the previous owners, Helene and Walter, (who are also Katharina’s parents) the hotel used to be the Pension Falkenstein before being passed down to the next generation. When they took over in 2019, Katharina and Philipp introduced some innovations, one of which was rebranding and upgrading the Falkenstein to the Rommisa.

However, the friendly and welcoming atmosphere and traditions remain, as well as the same level of commitment. A new Spa was built, rooms were renovated, and a number of new ideas introduced to further improve the existing structure.

Philipp shares his culinary skills with enthusiasm and Katharina’s passion for nature and her knowledge of wines shine through, selecting the right wine for each platter. Both the older and newer generation of owner-couples: Helene and Walter, Katharina and Philipp, are always ready to warmly welcome their guests!

Our panoramic location in Oberwielenbach in the Pustertal Valley

As you drive through the Pustertal Valley, the road winds its way uphill and through the forest. The higher you climb, the further the stresses of everyday life recede into the distance. At 1,400 m, you’ll come to the Hotel Rommisa, in a scenic, sunny spot. From its scenic vantage-point in the unspoilt setting of Oberwielenbach, you look out on the Dolomites and the Rieserferner Mountains. And despite its tranquil location, it only takes 10 min by car to get to the Kronplatz (Plan de Corones) cableway valley station, or the nearby town of Bruneck (Brunico).
